Introduction

I encountered the 'prophet' years ago when I was a student at Birmingham University. One Wednesday afternoon when I was walking back to hall, I decided to sit down on a bench at the Five Ways roundabout and read the newspaper I was carrying

A few minutes later I noticed an elderly white haired man. He had a short white beard, wore a dark overcoat and carried a wad of A4 paper. He was working his way round all the benches handing out sheets covered with dense type-script on both sides. One person tried to question him but the old man just mumbled something and moved on continuing to hand out his leaflets.

I have never seen the prophet since. The leaflets were unsigned (technically illegal in the UK) and all I could discover was that other students had seen him there previously handing out a single-sided leaflet. Given his appearance, he might have been God in disguise. Fortunately this incident has not changed my life but never the less I consider it my duty to share the knowledge I received with the rest of humanity.
